Scale at Azilda Landfill Site Now Open

The scale at the Azilda landfill and waste diversion site has been replaced and is now fully operational. 

City of Greater Sudbury landfill sites are licensed to accept non-hazardous solid waste. This excludes any quantity of the following waste materials:

•    dangerous, hazardous or toxic waste;
•    pathological waste;
•    manure;
•    any waste in semi-liquid or liquid form;
•    dead animals 
•    soil or granular materials
•    asbestos waste 
•    waste generated from outside the boundaries of the City of Greater Sudbury;
•    any other material evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Hours of operation for the winter are Monday to Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
