Residents are invited to public information sessions on the proposed Fire and Paramedic Services Optimization Plan, which aims to achieve a One City, One Service delivery model in the community.

The sessions will give residents the opportunity to learn more about current service levels, as well as the proposed Optimization plan which will be presented to City Council on March 22, 2017.

The Public Information sessions will take place as follows:

Sudbury session: Details to follow as soon as they are available.

The sessions will include a presentation by Chief of Fire and Paramedic Services and General Manager of Community Safety Trevor Bain beginning at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a Question and Answer period. Staff will be available before and after the presentation to answer questions. Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about the future of Fire and Paramedic Services in the community.

Background
In August 2015, the Community Services Committee of Council directed staff to prepare a report to Council on the optimization of fire services, stations and service levels. In February 2016, the motion was amended to include Paramedic Services. The final report will be presented at a Special Meeting of City Council on March 22, 2017. This meeting is open to the public and will be live streamed at www.greatersudbury.ca.
