Salt Routes

Class 1-3: Main Arterial or Secondary Collector Routes

The following roads will be treated with salt and plowed to bare pavement conditions this winter in the City of Greater Sudbury.

Each of these roads is classified as either a main arterial road or a secondary collector road, meaning crews will endeavour to achieve bare or near bare pavement conditions within 3 to 8 hours following the end of a snowstorm.

Please note: The following routes are subject to change through the winter to improve efficiency.

Class 4-6: Rural and Residential Roads

Roads that are not listed above are classified as residential or rural roads, meaning crews will endeavour to achieve a snow-packed surface within 8 to 24 hours following the end of a snowstorm with accumulations of 8 cm or more. Icy sections will be sanded.
