New Traffic Patterns for Construction at Lasalle and Notre Dame

Construction is progressing at the intersection of Lasalle Boulevard and Notre Dame Avenue. Motorists who are familiar with current traffic patterns are advised of the following changes, effective Sunday, August 11, 2013.

Construction on Notre Dame Avenue, from Pioneer Manor to Turner Avenue, will move from the east side of the road to the west side of road. Commuters travelling from Capreol and Valley East on Monday morning will be directed to open lanes on their left.

Construction on Lasalle Boulevard, from the Notre Dame intersection to the Tax Services Office entrance, will move from curb and sidewalk work on the inside lanes into the center lanes.

Construction will begin on Lasalle Boulevard, west of the Notre Dame intersection to O’Grady Street. Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane.

Motorists are reminded to use the “Zipper Merge” when approaching a construction zone. Line up using both lanes and proceed through the construction zone one at a time by alternating from each lane. Vehicles in the merging lane should signal. Each driver in the through lane should let one vehicle merge.

The City of Greater Sudbury thanks motorists for their patience. Improvements at Lasalle and Notre Dame will ultimately reduce traffic congestion at this busy intersection.
