COVID Update

The Off The Street emergency shelter is operating at its permanent location at 200 Larch Street. Additional pods and dividers have been installed to ensure greater infection prevention for shelter users and staff.

The Homelessness Network Day Centre is open at 19 Frood Rd. The drop-in centre is operated by Centre de Santé Communautaire du Grand Sudbury and offers a safe, warm place for people to access washrooms, breakfast, water, coffee, free wifi, computers. It also provides client navigators who will help people connect to health, housing and social service supports. The program operates seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will continue until May 31, 2021.


 

On November 16, 2020 the YMCA opened an overnight warming centre at 140 Durham street. The warming centre will be open from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. every night between November 16, 2020 and April 30, 2021. This location will provide a safe, warm place for up to 20 people who are homeless or vulnerable and will provide access to washrooms and light refreshments.
