Butterfly Program

The EarthCare Sudbury Butterfly Program offers free butterfly rearing kits to schools within the City of Greater Sudbury. The goal of this program is to encourage our youth to enjoy and protect our natural environment.

Butterfly rearing offers learning opportunities that complement the curriculum in science, language and art.  Students can learn about:

  • characteristics of butterflies
  • the basic needs of living things
  • pollination
  • habitat and habitat conservation
