Private Parking Lots

New or expanded outdoor patios in private parking lots must:

• Be designed to minimize the impacts on the required parking spaces and drive aisles, especially where a parking lot is shared by multiple businesses.
• The parking rate for restaurants has been reduced to a rate of one space per 12.5 square metres net floor area of the interior space.
• Only provide additional parking spaces for a patio if it is greater than 40 per cent in size of the net floor area of the restaurant.
• Maintain existing accessible parking spaces or designate the same number in an accessible location.
