Three Citizens Appointed to GSDC Board

The Greater Sudbury Development Corporation appointed three strong community members at its Annual General Meeting on June 14, 2017.

Marett McCulloch, Erin Danyliw and Andrée Lacroix have been appointed to the GSDC Board for three-year terms. The appointments were made following a citywide call for applications. Service on the GSDC Board of Directors is an unpaid, volunteer position. 

With these appointments, under the leadership of Chair Wendy Watson, the 18-member GSDC Board achieved gender parity for the first time in its history.

Greater Sudbury is fortunate to have talented individuals who are willing to commit their time and expertise to enable positive change in our community,” said Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger. “On behalf of Council, I welcome our new members and we look forward to their contributions for the continuing economic advancement of our city.”

Marett McCulloch is General Sales Manager for CTV Sudbury, Sault St Marie and North Bay. She brings more than 25 years of broadcast sales and marketing experience to the Board. Marett has extensive experience serving on the Board of Directors for many local organizations spanning several decades, including the YMCA, STC and Cinéfest. She is currently involved with Cultural Industries Ontario North, Pond Hockey Festival on the Rock and YES theatre.

Erin Danyliw studied international Development at the University of Toronto and after graduation spent some time in Senegal working with homeless children. She returned to Sudbury to join a family business, and is currently General Manager of Copy Copy Printing Erin is a founding member  of a feminist group called the Sudbury Women’s Action Group (SWAG v2.0). She hopes to add a youthful perspective to the GSDC, providing insight into making the city an attractive place for young professionals. 

Andrée Lacrox is a lifelong Sudburian,and a graduate of both Laurentian University and the L’Université de Moncton in New Brunswick from the Faculty of Law. Andrée is a partner at Lacroix Lawyers/avocats and is fluently bilingual.  She practices in the areas of civil litigation, insurance law, real estate planning and commercial litigation.  Andrée is a current board member for Independence Centre and Network (ICan). She is the past president of the Board of Directors for the Sudbury Community Foundation and Past President/Chair of the Iris Recovery for Women (formerly Lakeside Centre and Robbins Hill). Ms. Lacroix is a member of the law Society of Upper Canada, Ontario Bar Association, L’Association des juristes d’expression française de l’ontario, Sudbury District Law Association , Laurentian University Alumni and Alumni de l’Université de Moncton. 

“These three women are an excellent complement to our existing Board skill set, and bring demonstrated, relevant and strategic acumen to our table,” said GSDC Board Chair Wendy Watson. “ It think it is also important to note that with the addition of Marrett, Erin and Andrée, the GSDC Board has reached gender parity for the first time in its history.  These smart, community-minded women join a group of volunteers dedicated to  growing and strengthening our community and its economic base.”    


The Greater Sudbury Development Corporation is the economic development arm of the City of Greater Sudbury. Consisting of a 18-member board of directors and supported by municipal staff, the GSDC acts as a catalyst for economic development initiatives and supports the attraction, development and retention of business in the community.
