City of Greater Sudbury Holiday Service Schedule

The following is the City of Greater Sudbury 2016 holiday season service schedule.

Tom Davies Square will close December 26, 27 and January 2.

Landfills and the Recycling Centre will close on December 25 and January 1. They will be open on December 26.

Garbage and recycling collection will be unaffected by the holidays.  Natural Christmas trees will be collected and composted as part of year-round leaf and yard trimmings collection. Please remove all decorations, tinsel and lights. Place the tree at the curb by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day. Christmas trees wrapped in plastic will not be collected.

Greater Sudbury Libraries and Citizen Service Centres will close on December 25, 26, and 27 and January 1 and 2. Additional holiday hours vary by location and can be found at www.sudburylibraries.ca.

Holiday hours at municipal swimming pools and fitness facilities vary by location. Please call the facility to confirm times or visitwww.greatersudbury.ca/leisure

Greater Sudbury arenas will offer free public skating during the holidays, compliments of your local Tim Hortons. Visit a Tim Hortons location or www.timhortons.com for the free skate schedule. For other arena programming happening throughout the holidays, visitwww.greatersudbury.ca/arenas.

Adanac ski hill will close December 25 and January 1. Holiday hours can be here. The Lively ski hill is currently closed. Visitwww.greatersudbury.ca/ski for updated ski hill conditions.

The Queen’s Athletic Skating Oval and the Ramsey Lake Skate Path are closed. The City will issue updates as conditions change.

Greater Sudbury Holiday Transit Schedule

December 24: The last departure from the Downtown Transit Terminal is at 6:15 p.m. with the exception of Routes 701 Lively, 702 Azilda/Chelmsford, 703 & 704 Hanmer/Val Caron/Capreol and 103 Coniston. Visit www.greatersudbury.ca/transit for full route information. The Transit information line at 705-675-3333 will close at 4 p.m.

December 25:  Sudbury Transit will not operate on Christmas Day.

December 26: Greater Sudbury Transit will operate on a Sunday service schedule.

December 31: Free Transit rides will be available on New Year’s Eve from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Full route information for the evening can be found at www.greatersudbury.ca/transit.

January 1: Greater Sudbury Transit will operate on a Sunday service schedule.
