Due to the winter storm, waste and recycling collection for householdsin the Wahnapitae, Wanup, Falconbridge, Val Therese, Hanmer, capreoland the Richard Lake area south of the bypass who normally receivecollection services every Tuesday has been delayed to Wednesday,December 30.

Further to the traffic update from last night, Government Road in Coniston, at the bridge, remains closed to traffic. Barricades, closure signs and detours are posted on either side of the bridge.

The City of Greater Sudbury United Way Workplace Campaign was a resounding success with $71,220.09 raised in 2015.
- Greater Sudbury Indonesian Community Reserve their Spot on the Bridge of Nations

Members of the Indonesian community of Greater Sudbury, presented a cheque for $1,200 to Mayor Brian Bigger and the Bridge of Nations Committee co-chair, Ursula Sauve. The money will be held in trust by the City of Greater Sudbury to reserve a spot on the bridge for the flag of Indonesia for the third and final phase of the Bridge of Nations.

Hours of operation for Greater Sudbury Transit are adjusted as follows for the upcoming holidays. Free extended night service is available on New Year’s Eve, December 31, between 10:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m., with buses leaving the Downtown Transit Terminal every 60 minutes at half past the hour.

- City Prepares to Implement Changes to Definition of Senior from 55 to 65

On December 15, 2015, City of Greater Sudbury Council approved an amendment to the miscellaneous user fee by-law that redefines the starting age for discounted rates for leisure, parking and transit services from age 55 to age 65. . Changes affecting leisure and recreation programs and parking passes will come into effect January 1, 2016. Changes affecting Greater Sudbury Transit fares will come into effect March 1, 2016.
