City of Greater Sudbury Civic Awards Not Offered this Year due to COVID-19
We know how critical volunteers are to a community, particularly during COVID-19, when organizations and individuals are looking for additional support. Unfortunately, due to restrictions related to the pandemic, the Civic Awards will not be offered during National Volunteer Week, as per regular practice.
The City recognizes the dedication and devotion of our volunteers, and we thank them for their outstanding service. We look forward to recognizing volunteers through Civic Awards again when it is safe to do so.
The City of Greater Sudbury recognizes the contributions of community volunteers through Civic Awards. These awards are presented to individuals and/or groups for meritorious service, voluntary contributions, personal efforts and exemplary community development within the City of Greater Sudbury.
Citizens are invited to nominate local individuals and/or groups who have volunteered their time and who have made a significant contribution to the community. The following criteria will be considered during the selection process for the awards:
length of volunteer service,
- enrichment of spirit,
- lasting legacy,
- leadership, and
- exceptional service.
