How to Book Your Appointment

To book your appointment to get your Marriage Licence at City Hall please use our online booking system or call 3-1-1. 

To get a Marriage Licence at a Citizen Service Centre please contact the Centre directly.

  • One or both of the applicants must attend in person in order to get a Marriage Licence. 
  • Complete, save and print the online Marriage Licence Application Form.  
  • Bring the completed Marriage Licence Application Form, signed by both applicants, and the required documents with you to your appointment.

Please allow 20 minutes to process your application.

Marriage Certificates

Couples must wait about 10 weeks after the marriage ceremony to request the marriage certificate from the Province of Ontario. The province does not send the certificate automatically. This is the legal record of the marriage. The couple must initiate the request for a marriage certificate by visiting the Service Ontario website.
