The City of Greater Sudbury has extended the deadline for applications for appointment to Citizen Advisory Panels. Citizen Advisory Panels submit  recommendations to the Council of Greater Sudbury to help shape programs and services in our community.

Who is Eligible?
Canadian citizens age 18 and over who are owners/tenants, or spouses of owners/tenants, of land within the boundaries of the City of Greater Sudbury.

Each of the following panels will serve for a two year term, ending November 30, 2008:

Accessibility Advisory Panel
Provides advice to City Council on matters related to accessibility for persons with disabilities.

Agricultural and Topsoil Advisory Panel
Provides input and advice on local agricultural issues, including agricultural land use, economic promotion and topsoil preservation.

Arts and Culture Grant Advisory Panel
Evaluates and recommends funding applications from local not-for-profit arts and cultural sector groups.

Bicycle Advisory Panel
Assists in implementing and promoting safe and attractive bicycle routes throughout the community.

Children First Roundtable
Works to build a sense of civic responsibility to improve the quality of life for children.

Greater Sudbury Lake Improvement Advisory Panel
Promotes the stewardship of local lakes in association with stakeholders and the community at large.

Lake Ramsey Advisory Panel
Promotes the stewardship of Lake Ramsey in association with stakeholders and the community at large.

Seniors’ Advisory Panel
Promotes the development and continuation of special services for older adults.

Solid Waste Advisory Panel
Reviews and recommends programs and services to divert sources of waste from local landfill sites.

Street Naming Committee
Reviews and makes recommendations to reduce duplicate street names in the City of Greater Sudbury.

Appointments by City of Greater Sudbury Council are based on equal opportunity and are reflective of the demographic and geographical local makeup of the City of Greater Sudbury.  Citizen appointments are on a volunteer basis and receive no remuneration.
