June, 2016 (Sudbury) – The City of Greater Sudbury has partnered with Canadian Blood Services to help ensure lifesaving blood products are available to hospital patients in need. The City of Greater Sudbury has adopted the Barry Downe blood donor clinic and committed to recruit new donors and fill appointments to help collect 160 donations at the clinic the week of June 13 to 16.

“We are happy to support staff in this great initiative,” said Mayor Brian Bigger. “We also invite Greater Sudbury residents to join us and make an appointment to donate blood.”

You can take part by making an appointment to give life at the Sudbury Clinic, at 944 Barry Downe Road. To discover all the ways you can help and to book your appointment, visit blood.ca.

“I am thrilled that as an organization we are able to support such an important cause,” said Kevin Fowke, the Director of Human Resources for the City of Greater Sudbury. “I encourage all staff to help out by donating blood to patients in need.”

By adopting a clinic, organizations can make a difference in the lives of hospital patients. Choose a clinic date and recruit donors from within your organization, your networks, customers and community, and help give life to those in need. Canadian Blood Services will work with interested organizations to plan and support their involvement.
