No Overnight Parking on City Streets: December 1 to March 31

Nov 29, 2016

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

In preparation for the coming winter, the overnight parking by-law will take effect starting December 1, through to March 31. During this time, parking is not permitted on any roadway, highway, laneway or side street between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m.

The overnight parking restriction is in place to allow for snow removal on local roadways. The by-law will be strictly enforced, seven days a week. Motorists parked in violation may be ticketed and the vehicle may be towed if it is impeding snow removal.

Also, residents are reminded to please remove portable basketball systems from the road and off the shoulder during the winter months to allow snowplows and salt/sand trucks a clear path to pass. Hockey nets should be stored away from the roadway when not in use.

The City of Greater Sudbury thanks everyone for their cooperation to help keep our streets clear of snow this winter.
