Greater Sudbury Speaks Up on Draft Downtown Master Plan and Action Strategy
Released Thursday, Feb 2, 2012
Tuesday night, approximately 75 community members came together at St. Andrew’s Place to learn more about and share their ideas on the Draft Master Plan and Action Strategy for Downtown Sudbury. The comments made at the meeting support the compelling, long term vision for Downtown Sudbury painted in the Draft Master Plan and Action Strategy.
The City of Greater Sudbury would like to thank everyone who came to meeting to share their ideas. These ideas, together with those collected up to the February 21, 2012 comment deadline will be considered and used to refine the plan before it is brought forward to City Council for consideration, likely in March.

The Draft Master Plan calls for Downtown Sudbury to be the biggest, brightest and best downtown in Northern Ontario. It paints a compelling picture of how the City and its community partners see the downtown 10 and 30 years from now, detailing a series of actions and initiatives necessary for an active, safe and diverse destination for people, businesses and new investment.
The Draft Master Plan and Action Strategy was developed by the City of Greater Sudbury and Greater Sudbury Development Corporation in partnership with many community organizations, with the assistance of Urban Strategies Inc. This initiative is funded by FedNor, NOHFC, the City of Greater Sudbury and Greater Sudbury Development Corporation.
