Greater Sudbury Development Corporation Appoints New Directors

At the Greater Sudbury Development Corporation (GSDC) Annual General Meeting on June 13, Paul Kusnierczyk and Wendy Watson were appointed to the GSDC board of directors for three year terms.
'Greater Sudbury is fortunate to have talented individuals who commit their time and expertise to enable positive change in our community,” Greater Sudbury Mayor Marianne Matichuk said. 'These new members, with their varied skills and extensive business experience, will make tremendous contributions to both the Greater Sudbury Development Corporation and our community.”
Paul Kusnierczyk is a residential and commercial realtor at Royal LePage North Heritage Realty.. He is a volunteer Ski Patroller with the Canadian Ski Patrol System and has also volunteered his time for several local agencies including Meals on Wheels, YMCA, and St. Bernadette School Council. Paul was recognized as Volunteer of the Year in 2008 by the Sudbury Real Estate Board.
Wendy Watson, who recently served as Vice Chair of the Market Square Renewal Advisory Panel, comes from a vast background in Media, Marketing and Communications. Watson's distinct voice was a staple on local airwaves and this led her to management roles at Newcap Radio and CTV Sudbury. Watson has given her time to assist with the Northern Ontario Youth Centre for Social Innovation, the Jazz Sudbury Festival, and Music and Film in Motion.
'I would like to extend a sincere welcome to these new members of the Greater Sudbury Development Corporation,” GSDC Chair Scott Lund said. 'It is through the dedication of individuals such as these that the GSDC continues to support the growth of the community and strengthen its economic base. These community-minded people have the skills required to assist us in attracting innovative new businesses to the area.”
