Greater Sudbury Colleges Take Home Top Honours

Every year, Ontario colleges collect and report on performance in five categories defined by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to measure them against Ministry goals and objectives. This year, the top results in all five categories were earned by colleges based in Greater Sudbury.

“An educated community is a key component of a happy community,” said Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger. “These outstanding results are testaments to the high levels of service and education our post-secondary institutions demand and provide. On behalf of Council, I want to congratulate everyone involved in making these results possible and in setting consistently high standards for their institutions.”

The Key Performance Indicators (KPI) measured are: graduate satisfaction, student satisfaction, employer satisfaction, employment rate, and graduation rate.
In Ontario, Collège Boréal ranked number one in student satisfaction, in graduate satisfaction, in graduation rate and in graduate employment rate. Cambrian College took the number one spot in employer satisfaction in Ontario with a perfect score of 100 per cent.

The KPI data, which are gathered by an independent research company, are used by colleges to demonstrate their achievements and to identify where changes could be made to programs and services to better meet the needs of students. The Ministry also uses the data to advise and inform government about the colleges and in the planning and policy-making for the college system.
