City to Offer Free Hands-Only Bystander CPR Training Sessions

The City of Greater Sudbury’s Paramedic Services is pleased to partner with the Heart and Stroke Foundation to offer free hands-only bystander CPR training to residents interested in learning this life saving skill. 

Effective hands-only bystander CPR, provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest, can increase a victim’s chance of survival. 

Free sessions will be held in various areas of the community and will be 2 hours in length:

  • Monday, September 15, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kinsmen Hall, 1 Kin Driver, Lively
  • Wednesday September 17, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Garson Community Centre, 100 Church Street, Garson (upstairs hall);
  • Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dowling Leisure Centre, 79 Main Street, Dowling;
  • Monday, September 29, 2014 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre, 4040 Elmview Drive, Hanmer;
  • Monday, October 6, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lionel E. Lalonde Centre, 239 Montée Principale, Azilda.

Heart and Stroke Citizen CPR certification will be provided to those who complete the session. Each session is limited to 30 participants.
