City of Greater Sudbury offers new Cycling Courses for Residents

 The City of Greater Sudbury is now offering cycling courses that will begin this summer , and will include courses for children ages 5 and up who want to give up their training wheels, a course for teenagers 14 years and older, a course specifically tailored to women, and one for cyclists for commuting and recreational use.

Courses available are:
Kids Learn to Ride: This is a course for children (5 years and older) who are ready to starts riding a two-wheeled bike.

Date: Wednesday, July 23          
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.          
Location: Rosemarie             
Cost: $20                  

Date: Thursday, July 24
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Algonquin
Cost: $20

Date: Wednesday, July 30
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.    
Location: Delki Dozzi
Cost: $20

Streetwise Cycling:  This is a course for cyclists who are 14 years and older and who already ride on residential streets or bike paths.

Dates: August 12, 13, 14
Times: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Location: Delki Dozzi Hall
Cost: $40

Cycling Freedom for Women:  This is a course taught by women for women who are 14 years and older and who already ride on residential streets or bike paths.

Dates:  September 16, 17, 18
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Location: Delki Dozzi Hall
Cost: $40


Defensive Cycling for Commuters and Recreational Cyclists:  This is an advanced course in defensive cycling for commuters and recreational cyclists who already ride in traffic and on multi-lane expressways. Participants must be 14 years or older.

Dates: August 23, 24, and September 13 and 14
Time: Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Location: Delki Dozzi Field House
Cost: $80

All course participants must have a helmet and a bike in good working condition.
