Tom Davies Square will close for the holidays December 25, 26 and January 1. It will also close at 2 p.m. on December 24 and 31.


Waste Collection Schedule:

December 25, 2012 - Christmas Day:

Household garbage and recycling collection which falls on December 25, will be changed to Saturday, December 29.  Landfills and recycling centre will be closed on Tuesday, December 25.

December 26, 2012 - Boxing Day:

Garbage and recycling collection are unaffected by this holiday.  We will collect on this day.  Landfills and recycling centre are unaffected by this holiday and will be open on Wednesday, December 26.

January 1, 2013 - New Year's Day:

Household garbage and recycling collection which falls on January 1 will be changed to Saturday, January 5.  Landfills and recycling centre will be closed on Tuesday, January 1.

Please make sure your garbage is at the curb by 7:00 a.m. as pick-up times may vary occasionally without notice.

Greater Sudbury Library Branches and Citizen Service Centres will close December 24 (at 2 p.m.), 25, 26, 31 (at 2 p.m.)  and January 1. Holiday Hours of Operation for the 13 locations can be found at www.sudburylibraries.ca.

Hours at municipal swimming pools and fitness facilities vary by location. Please call to confirm times. Contact information available at www.greatersudbury.ca.

Greater Sudbury Arenas are closed December 24 (1 p.m.), 25, 26, 31 (1 p.m.) and January 1. For information about the free holiday skate, please visit a local Tim Hortons for a schedule of dates and locations.

Adanac Ski Hill is aiming for a late-December opening, weather permitting. For up-to-date information on ski hill conditions, please visit www.greatersudbury.ca/ski.

Other outdoor recreation facilities including Capreol and Lively Ski Hills, Queens Athletic Skating Oval and the Ramsay Lake Skate Path, will open as weather permits. The City will advise when these facilities are open for the season.

Greater Sudbury Transit will not operate on Tuesday, December 25. Transit will run on the Sunday Service Schedule on January 1. Free Transit rides will be available New Year's Eve after 10 p.m. until  2:30 a.m. Route information can be found at www.greatersudbury.ca/transit including modified schedules for Monday, December 24 routes.
