ArtsBuild Ontario Workshop Coming to Greater Sudbury

Oct 2, 2015

Arts nonprofit organizations in the region are invited to attend ArtsBuild Ontario’s LEARN IT | BUILD IT | MANAGE IT workshop on October 6 and 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Greater Sudbury Public Library South End Branch.

LEARN IT | BUILD IT | MANAGE IT is a two day workshop designed to strengthen the management and financial capacity of nonprofit arts and cultural centres. It is the first province-wide workshop that helps nonprofit organizations gain knowledge and skills to build, manage and finance their facilities, and to engage the community in their building projects. LEARN IT | BUILD IT | MANAGE IT will be presented in 10 Ontario communities from October 2014 to March 2016.

Arts organizations will gain the necessary knowledge, tools and resources to manage facilities from a nonprofit standpoint. The workshop includes four half-day modules, led by experts Rick Gosine, Richard Bright, Jaime Hass and Jeremy Freiburger. Topics covered at the workshop include Building New Facilities, Alternative Financing Options for Creative Spaces, Managing/Maintaining Sustainable Facilities and Engaging Your Community in Your Creative Spaces. After attending this workshop, arts nonprofits will walk away armed with new knowledge for their building projects.
