At its regular meeting of March 27th, 2001, the Council of the City of Greater Sudbury unanimously endorsed a by-law concerning the use of the English and French languages in Greater Sudbury, thus ensuring that some 50,000 French-speaking residents of Greater Sudbury will continue to be able to deal with their municipality in the official language of their choice.

The City of Greater Sudbury's policy on the use of the English and French languages provides operational guidelines for the provision of services in both official languages and is now available for downloading.
