Compliance

The Ministry of the Environment has set out various aesthetic, operational, and health related objectives for water quality parameters in the province, through the Ontario Drinking Water Standards (O.D.W.S), and subsequent O. Reg. 170/03 which came into effect in June 2003. The City of Greater Sudbury monitors each of its distribution systems for many of these parameters on a daily, weekly and annual basis, with sample analyses provided by the Ministry of the Environment and our independent laboratory Testmark Laboratories Ltd. located in Garson, Ontario which is accredited by the Canadian Association for Environmental Analytical Laboratories (Inc.).

All of our plant operators are licensed by the Ministry of Environment under Regulation O. Reg. 128/04.
