Infrastructure Stimulus Fund at Work in Greater Sudbury
The Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario and the City of Greater Sudbury have partnered to invest $38.6 million for rehabilitation of underground and surface infrastructure on three of our city's heaviest travelled routes. Construction on Paris Street, Lasalle Boulevard and Falconbridge Highway began last summer and will be complete by the end of the 2010 construction season.
Infrastructure Stimulus Fund projects in Greater Sudbury are supported in part by the Federal Gas Tax Fund.
Falconbridge Highway between the Kingsway and Skead Road

- Barrington Street to Auger Avenue: Sidewalk
- Maley Drive intersection: Widening for turn lane

Lasalle Boulevard between Notre Dame Avenue and Falconbridge Highway (Total $14.1 million / 22 lane kilometers)

- Paquette Street to Barry Downe Road: Asphalt and curbs on westbound lanes, surface asphalt on both westbound and eastbound lanes
- Barry Downe Road intersection: Sanitary sewer replacement, widening of northbound intersection
- Lauzon Avenue to St. Jerome Street: Asphalt, curb, sidewalk
- Notre Dame Avenue intersection: Asphalt, curb, sidewalk
