Fares Fares
Bus fare may be paid with exact change, 5 and 10 ride passes or 31 day passes. Our drivers cannot make change. Please have your fare ready upon boarding, and deposit it into the fare box. For more information, visit our pass and fare pricing page.
 
Transfers Transfers
Transit users may obtain a free transfer from the bus driver when paying fares by cash or 5 ride or 10 ride cards. Transfers are valid only on the first available bus travelling to the passenger's destination and are not transferable. PLEASE ASK FOR YOUR TRANSFER WHEN BOARDING THE BUS. 31 day pass holders do not require transfers.
 
Boarding Boarding
Please board the bus by the front door, then move towards the rear of the bus to make room for others. Please leave the front seats for the elderly and handicapped whenever possible.
 
Exiting Exiting
For the convenience of those boarding, please exit the bus by the rear doors whenever possible. Crossing in front of the bus is unsafe, always cross at the rear of the bus or wait until the bus has pulled away from the curb.
 
Transit by-laws and Policies Transit By-Laws / Policies
  • Smoking is prohibited on the buses, in the shelters and on many areas of the Transit Centre property. Please obey posted signs.
  • Radios or other devices producing sound can only be used when listening is done through the use of headphones. Sound must also be kept low enough to not interfere with other passengers.
  • Strollers and walkers MUST be folded and stored on end in a safe place as to not interfere with other passengers.
  • Babies must be taken out of the strollers and be held in your arms.
  • Please respect the comfort of others by not eating on board the bus.
  • Foul language and/or inappropriate topics of conversation will NOT be tolerated.

    Accessible Transit Accessible Transit
  • Greater Sudbury Transit will attempt to have accessible buses on the designated runs at all times. However, please note that extra large wheelchairs cannot be accommodated and a maximum of two wheelchairs can be accommodated at the same time.
  • Passengers using scooters must transfer to a seat to avoid the risk of injury to themselves and others.
  • In the event that a passenger in a wheelchair is waiting for a bus that is designated accessible and the bus is not accessible, the bus operator will call for an accessible cab to take the passenger to their destination, within the accessible service area, at Transit's expense. The average waiting time for the taxi should be approximately 20 minutes.

    Running on time Running On Time
    At Greater Sudbury Transit, we work hard to keep our buses on schedule, but on occasion, bad weather and traffic conditions make it difficult for the buses to run on time. Please Note: Greater Sudbury Transit schedules are subject to change.
     
    Charters Charters
    Greater Sudbury Transit buses can be chartered for sightseeing, special tours, and sports events. For further information, please call 675-3333.
     
    Transit Information Transit Information
    The Greater Sudbury Transit Information Service is on call for you from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday. Call 675-3333.
     
    Transit Centre Kiosk Transit Centre Kiosk
    Bus Passes are available for sale at the Transit Centre Kiosk located at 9 Elm Street in downtown Greater Sudbury. Photo i.d. pictures are taken at the Transit Centre Kiosk which is open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 7:30pm and Saturdays 9:00am to 4:00pm.
     
    Pets aboard the bus Pets
    Pets are permitted on the bus only when contained within a proper carrying container. The container should be placed on the floor of the bus and not on the seats or the wheel wells to avoid injury should the container slide while the bus is in motion. "Seeing eye" dogs are always permitted.
