Northern Home Repair Program Phase III  

All available funding for the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program Extension (2009) Northern Home Repair Program has been awarded to eligible property owners. We regret that funding for this program is no longer available.


Do you currently own a home that is in need of major repairs?

The City of Greater Sudbury is participating in the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program Extension (2009), Northern Home Repair Program.  The Program provides up to $10,000 in a forgivable mortgage loan to low and moderate income households to assist them in performing eligible major repairs to their homes.  Applications will be accepted on a first come first served basis until September 30, 2010, or until funding is depleted.

To qualify you must:

  • Be 18 years of age, a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant
  • Be a homeowner in the City of Greater Sudbury
  • The home you renovate must be your principal residence
  • Have a maximum household income of $67,600
  • Your home must be valued at no more than $184,275
  • Property taxes must be current
  • The homeowner must have adequate home insurance
  • Work cannot have started prior to receiving funding approval
  • Homeowner must have a minimum of $10,000 in equity in their home
